The human eye is a fascinating organ, often described as the "window to the soul." It's responsible for capturing light and converting it into electrical signals, which are then processed by the brain to create the images we see.
Cornea:
The transparent, dome-shaped layer that refracts (bends) light as it enters the eye.
Lens:
Works in tandem with the cornea to focus light on the retina.
Iris and Pupil:
The colored part of your eye (iris) controls the size of the pupil, which adjusts to regulate the amount of light entering the eye.
Retina:
The light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye, packed with photoreceptor cells (rods and cones) that detect light and color.
Optic Nerve:
Transmits visual information from the retina to the brain for interpretation.
